Picture Quality Analysis in Digital Television Systems

Diploma thesis deals with the analysis of quality in digital television systems and contains theoretical description of subjective and objective assessment of quality picture methods. The thesis contains short-term and long-term analysis of quality picture of terrestrial television DVB-T. Measurements and experimentations were carried out with the help of Rohde&Schwarz DVQ analyzer of picture quality and software MPEG-2 Quality Monitor and MPEG-2 Elementary stream analyzer.

School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka

The project concerns itself with a current issue concerning the use of the social space, Černa louka, situated a short distance from the centre of Ostrava. This project adds new facilities - educational, sports, gastronomical, and scientific - to the original competion proposal. What is more, this brings new input to the area responding to the needs of local inhabitants. The complex of educational buildings is designed as a new principle of vertical compact form.

Subjective quality evaluation of video sequences

This master´s work is focused on the comparison of subjective assessment of the quality of video sequences. In this study, data are obtained by hardware and sofware techniques and they are compared. In the introduction, methods of video compressions are described. The main part of this work deals wtih the exploring of different methods of subjective assessment of the quality of video sequences. Finally, obtained results from different methods, are evaluated and discussed.

The bachelor's thesis deals with the determination of the theoretical knowledge of secondary school students from first pre-medical assistance. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to define first aid, describe the procedure of pre-medical first aid for individual life-threatening conditions, summarize the inclusi-on of first aid teaching in RVP and the characteristics of didactic tests. The practi-cal part is devoted to research at the chosen high school. A didactic test is used to determine the theoretical knowledge of fourth graders. At the end of the ba-chelor's thesis, an analysis of the results and their evaluation is given.

Media Image of the Selected Geological Terms from Evolution of the Organisms on the Earth

1 ABSTRACT The aim of the presented bachelor thesis is to map the media image of 9 selected geological terms related to the topic "Evolution of the Organisms on the Earth" and to analyse an educational potential of selected media texts/articles for teaching process at primary and secondary schools. The bachelor thesis also presents the author's methodology for evaluation of the occurrence and categorization of (geological) terms in media texts/articles selected using the Anopress database. The thesis combinates qualitative content analysis and qualitative research. The research sample includes 115 articles/texts from the 15 most read news websites from the first to third quarters in 2021. The results show that (i) the most frequently mentioned topics in media are recent organisms, geological environment and ecological terms and relationships in a context of the analysed geological terms, (ii) only a small percentage of the analysed articles/texts can be used for teaching process at primary and secondary schools as supplementary studied materials, because most of the articles have mentioned geological terms without further explanation, (iii) Deník.cz has the highest educational potential from the 15 most read news websites. Transfer of the Czech population from SS training area Benešov and its social impacts (1942-1945)

The theme of the work is the transfer of population caused by the establishment of the Waffen SS training area between Benešov and Sedlčany (SS-Truppenübungsplatz "Böhmen"). The central part of the text is a comprehensive conception of the transfer, the emphasis is put on the perception of events from different perspectives. Documents of Protectorate authorities are confronted with local elites memoirs, chronicles and memories of inhabitants. There are captured the process of displacement, work of the Resettlement office, finding a new existence, the expropriation of property, departure of the inhabitants and their subsequent fates. Text is complemented with historical photos, documents relating to the displacement, a map of the occupied territory and graphs approaching professional composition of the population, provision of a new existence and dispersion into the Protectorate districts. Changes of a paradigm of society during the war and after the war and the impact of these changes on post-war historiographical construction are outlined marginally.

Supplemental educational text to existing high-school textbooks

The diploma thesis was focused on preparation of a new educational material in a form of internet webpage and supplemental files (PowerPoint presentation, pdf files, animations and pictures) targeted to equilibrium states in chemistry. The material can be considered to be a supplement to current textbooks and other educational materials to cover the content of contemporary curricular documents in the Czech Republic, especially Framework educational programme for secondary school education (RVP-G) and Catalogue of requirements for school-leaving exam. The thesis also contains an evaluation of selected sources like textbooks and internet webpages focused on mentioned themes. On the basis of evaluation, the subthemes of chemical equilibrium, phase equilibrium and red-ox equilibrium were selected as the content of the prepared educational webpages. The prepared educational materials were prepared with regard to learn the subject matter of equilibrium states theme using understandable form. Another important point of the prepared educational materials is a motivation of students; hence the materials comprise variety of originally prepared motivation elements as interactive animations, images and recorded experiments.
